LEADERSHIP

A North Carolina native, Jay Flynn has called Fort Lauderdale home since arriving on the scene as a high school freshman in the mid-1970s. Joining the swim team at the Pine Crest School brought Jay to town where he swam competitively and developed a love for the City of Fort Lauderdale and all it had to offer an aspiring engineer. Upon graduation, Jay returned to North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University to study Civil Engineering. Not a fan of the cold weather, Jay was anxious to get back to the sunshine state and did so in 1984.

His career began with the prestigious Land Sciences Corporation (LSC), an EDSA subsidiary, where he received superior training in project management and design. There he had the opportunity to work on large scale master planning, new community and resort projects throughout South Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The experience was invaluable and Jay’s dedication to the firm and its practice resulted in his election to the LSC Board of Directors.

In the early 1990s as a motivated and accomplished engineer, Jay made the decision to strike out on his own with the launch of Flynn Engineering. From his career’s inception, Jay has built a reputation for engineering design excellence, outstanding client service and dedication to his community. Serving a diversified client roster from architects, land use attorneys, private developers and municipal agencies, Jay remains steadfast in his passion about quality development in the South Florida region.
