Holiday Park Received Ft. Lauderdale's
"Community Appearance Award for 2001"
Holiday Park is one of the largest and most widely used recreational facilities in all of Broward County. However, over the course of many years much of the park was in desperate need of a new design to keep up with the changing times in South Florida. New fields were needed as well as additional parking, pedestrian paths and concession areas.

Phase I, which began design in 1996, included the construction of football, soccer and multi-use fields as well as a new press box, concession/restroom building, stands, associated parking and other amenities.  Phase I construction cost was $2.5 million and construction completed in 1998.

With a construction cost of $5.5 million,  Phase II,  included new little league, senior league, and big league baseball fields, a concession restroom building, a new playground, associated amenities as well as adjoining pedestrian paths and roadway modifications.

Phase III includes additional parking facilities for Parker Playhouse, and two new roller hockey rinks to add to the many activities already present at Holiday Park.

Numerous spectacular oak trees were relocated on-site to preserve the natural beauty of this park.  Shown here is a 42" specimen oak in transit to the plaza at the baseball concession stand.  EDSA worked with Flynn Engineering to facilitate a design that was functional and friendly to the environment.
